Gelsolin is an actin-binding protein involved in dynamic changes of the actin cytoskeleton. This protein regulates the length of actin filaments by binding, severing, and capping the fast-growing filament ends and promotes actin nucleation. Gelsolin is widely expressed in normal tissues.
